Let's give it up for the New Year

Ok, so another MCS line, but again, fitting. Happy New Year everyone. So Bellevue is pretty much the only town that is making us go back to school today. It's pretty pathetic, actually, because today is the big Iowa game and practically every class is watching it... so basically there's no classes. Except for my advanced grammar class... because first of all... it was before the game, and second of all... there's too much to do in that class.
It's strange to be back in school. But I actually enjoy it, believe it or not. It's definately a reason to get out of the house, and I'm doing pretty well this year. Once I get all caught up after missing so much school to get my wisdom teeth out it will all be good. Semester's almost over!
So this morning my dad and I got into an argument... OVER THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS!
Seriously, I can't believe him sometimes. Ok, here's what happened: We were on our way to school, and Dad was driving, right? So it was raining, and the windshield was starting to get bad. So I was like, "Dad, are you going to turn on the wipers?" and he got all upset- mostly because he's a control freak and he doesn't want to be told what to do by anyone. He's going on about how he can see fine and he won't turn them on until HE needs to. We seriously argued about it for 5 minutes until finally he goes, "I will turn them on pretty soon when I need them." Like that was that. I was like, why the hell are we arguing about this at all? But whatever. Honestly, summer will be great. At Little Cloud the whole time and only home for the weekends. WOO!
I'm listening to "Together We'll Ring in the New Year" on my iPod right now... what a great song. Although I like "Resolution" better, the one that has the line I used for the title. All in all, Motion City Soundtrack is the best band of their genre. Seriously... give 'em a listen, folks. You will not be sorry.
Hope everyone is doing great!

"Resolution"
I like the universe
but she messes with my words
I'm not talking planets or galaxies
and the distance just makes it worse
I know what you're thinking
this probably sounds rehearsed
So let's give it up for the New Year
did this party of two have you slightly confused?
Now that our things are divided
she refuses to speak
and I'm driftin asleep at the wheel...
Liquids, powders and pills
not quite taken against my will
The tastes test of girls, from all over the world
who refuse to accept my excuses
She put up with so much of my madness and my self-abuse
She would tend to my wounds and fill me with food
when I'd stumble in drunk for breakfast
She was right to take off before she was consumed
...you're totally right, every action was well rehearsed.
